Architect Director

Job Description:A director of architecture oversees the company’s design work and is responsible for client relations, project management, and other administrative tasks. The director of architecture plays a crucial role in determining an organization’s culture. Assist in defining the company’s values and determining its approach to clients and projects. Including everything from deciding what projects to take on to ensuring quality control and client satisfaction.Responsibilities:Managing a team of architects and designers, providing them with direction on projectsProviding leadership to the design team, collaborating with other members of the team to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.Coordinating with clients to determine design requirements, including reviewing sketches and models with the client.Developing plans for new construction projects, remodeling existing structures, or improving the functionality of existing space.Communicating with contractors about construction progress and potential problems that may arise during the building process.Reviewing architectural plans for compliance with local building codes and zoning regulationsIdentifying ways to improve the design of a structure based on environmental factors such as light and wind exposure.Meeting with contractors to discuss construction details such as materials to be used and scheduling issues.Creating diagrams, renderings, and other visual representations of architectural designs.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, or a related field.10+ years professional experience in architecture, with 5+ years in a leadership role.Demonstrated success in project management from concept to completion.Thorough knowledge of building codes, zoning regulations, and construction methods.
