A leading Real Estate Developer is looking for an experienced Chief Accountant to lead its accounts and finance division who shall be responsible or preparing financial and performance reports as well as assisting departments with annual budgets and reviews.Chief Accountant Responsibilities Responsible for day-to-day finance and accounts operationsMonitoring project escrow accounts and liaising with Trustee and relevant authorities for customer receipts and project payments from escrow accountManage all accounting operations within the Group including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, CostVerification of contractors monthly billing and ensuring timely clearance of vendor bills.Managing the rental portfolio of the Group, ensuring timely encashing of rental PDC’s. Coordinate the preparation of regulatory and Statutory reporting (VAT, ESR, AUDIT)Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.Processing registration of sold units on RERA portal. Initiating payment request and submitting monthly inflow details on RERA TAS portal.Coordinate with sales department and provide them with accurate customer statements and any ad hoc reports requested by the sales division head.Month end accounting activities such as reconciliations and journal entriesProduction of monthly, quarterly and annual accounting reports to managementPerform full set of accounts and ensure timely closing of accountsPerform project cost forecasts/budgets, cost tracking, monitoring and controlsLiaise with the Heads of Departments to collect data for preparing reportsCompare actual with vs budget to determine the monthly variancesResponsible for timely monthly consolidated financial statements, payments, cash flow management reportingEnsure adherence to company’s policies and procedures and coordination in audit proceduresQualification More than 5 years of professional accounting experience. Construction/Property Development experience will be advantageous Minimum bachelor’s degree in finance, CPA, CMA and/or ACCA certified Well versed in SAGE accounting software products Experienced in using RERA portal (submitting request and reports) Advanced Excel skills, ability to work with lookups, pivot tables and formulas Experience in leading an accounts team is a plus
