Job Purpose:The Environmental Assessment Manager will report to a Senior Manager in the Group Environment & Sustainability (GES) Division. This position requires technical excellence, managing delivery of technical content for multiple environmental and social impact assessments (ESIA), providing clear directions on scope management relevant to planning, infrastructure design, and construction-specific opportunities and constraints to identify optimal solutions to avoid/mitigate environmental and social impacts. This role will also involve line management of junior staff. Job Responsibilities:Prepare technical scope of work for environmental baseline surveys and ESIA studies in the context of specific project requirements in the marine and terrestrial environments.Lead and manage the delivery of ESIA projects in sensitive ecosystems with minimum supervision.Conduct technical reviews of ESIA studies in line with the agreed scope of work. Act as a primary interface with consultants in relation to their inquiries, requests for information, and any and all written and verbal communications on technical content of the ESIA at a corporate level.Manage the schedule of ESIA delivery and interface with internal project teams to remove schedule conflicts.Interface with master planning, architectural, landscape and marine infrastructure design, and construction delivery teams to align the ESIA delivery objectives with the overall project targets.Conduct site visits and baseline surveys for RSG projects and prepare factual and ESIA reports in line with national and international best practice.Interface with internal and external regulators to defend the ESIA and secure approvals in a timely manner.Review environmental management plans prepared by contractors and operators and assess their relevance in line with the approved ESIA studies.Assess the capability levels within the organization and provide on-the-job training to junior colleagues.Interface with internal procurement and commercial teams, as required.Qualification and Experience:At least a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science or a closely related discipline. A master’s degree will be preferred.Minimum 8 years of relevant experience
