Environmental Data Management Manager

Job Purpose:The Environmental Data Management Manager will contribute to a team conducting environmental monitoring, training, and reporting. She/ he will be expected to participate in the collection, interpretation, and presentation of monitoring data collected from Marine & coastal and terrestrial environments. The candidate will also be expected to participate in the collection and data analysis related of sustainability monitoring data. The candidate will support the establishment of Red Sea Global (RSG) environmental data management strategy & policies and implement RSG’s Data and Information Management System and services. She/he will participate in system(s) integrations as necessary to capture, monitor, and report environment and sustainability performance information.Job Responsibilities:Strategic Contribution Assist with the implementation of the annual business plan and targets and execute the strategic agenda of the Environmental Data Management function to deliver RSG vision and mission. Ensure that monitoring data is collected by contractors. Monitor the performance and execution of contractors with respect to monitoring data collection.LeadershipServe as a role model to ensure employees’ awareness and commitment to RSG vision, mission, values, fundamentals and corporate strategy to establish a highly engaged and motivated human resources, and continuously improve performance. Budget Contribute to the preparation of the functional budget of the Environmental Data Management division and monitor financial performance versus the budget so that the business is aware of anticipated costs/revenues. Environmental Data Management 1. Monitoring:Participate in the design and execution of an interdisciplinary environmental monitoring program, including physical and chemical parameters and processes in the sea, land and atmosphere, to ensure the availability of high-quality information to support decision making. Participate in the assurance of the seamless integration of RSG systems and tools across all departments, as requiredEnsure system requirements are aligned with RSG monitoring strategy.Develop and maintain all required subsystems that will input data into the RSG integrated system. 2. ReportingParticipate in the production and dissemination of accurate reports and content whilst ensuring quality and timeliness of all written material. The reports shall target internal as well as external stakeholders.Oversee the regular assessment and reporting of the state of the environment.Support the identification, monitoring and analysis of drivers, pressures and impacts related to the trends in environment or sustainability condition 3. Training Participate in the training of staff within the environmental monitoring and enhancement teams. Participate in the training of external stakeholders on their scope within the monitoring system pertaining to both their inputs into the system as well as outputs from the system. Qualification and Experience:Degree in Environmental Sciences or system engineering, knowledge management, data analytics, spatial information, or equivalent experience.Minimum of 5 years’ experience in science-based resource management, conservation, enhancement, with strong background in marine ecosystems monitoring. Experience in large-scale environmental monitoring programs, using leading edge technologies (Internet of Things)Skills:Expertise in gathering, analyzing, and reporting environmental data. Demonstrated time management and organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines Experience working in and or across the GCC cultures would be advantageous. Excellent command of written and spoken English.
