JOB PURPOSETo lead and direct the Health, Safety, Security & Environment function, ensuring the development, implementation and management of measures, policies, standards, and competence levels through effective strategies, management systems and programs, in order to sustain required performance levels, in line with industry regulations, certifications and best-practice, and consistent with the company’s overall strategic objectives.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIESStrategyLead the formulation and implementation of the HSSE strategy in line with the company’s and the Support Service short, medium, and long term objectives.People Management and Organisation StructureManage the effective achievement of the HSSE objectives through setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing and motivating subordinates, and providing them with on-going guidance in order to maximise the subordinates’ HSSE overall performance.Support the HSSE function in defining an optimum departmental structure that ensures that resources are optimally utilized and communication is taking place in an efficient mannerHealth Safety EnvironmentLead safety and acts as the principal safety advisor to CEO and senior management, providing guidance and directions to all corporate divisions, to pro-actively implement, practice and adhere to Company’s ’s core safety functions, systems, values and code of conduct.Ensure all core business functions of the corporate safety department are being executed in a comprehensive manner to ensure consistency with government regulatory requirements, established company and/or departmental procedures, and industry best practices.Review accidents/incidents and investigation reports, evaluates compliance with procedures and ensures follow-up on implementation of remedial action to ensure appropriate measures are taken to prevent recurrences.Cultivate a culture within the corporate safety department to encourage honest and open communication with a sound team spirit, self-critical analysis, open reporting, continued staff development, and realistic successor-ship planning.Provide oversight of the safety programs and initiatives to ensure the effective implementation and maintenance of Safety Management System.SecurityLead development, implementation and maintenance of all security policies, procedures and systems pertaining to different aspects of Security (Operations Security, Investigation & Loss Control, Advisory & Compliance) in line with the Company’s industry in order to ensure the highest security standards are upheld and the quality of performance is maintained at a high level of competence. Coordinate across all security functions, assess for any potential risks and provide direction on the best strategies to uphold the integrity of the Company’s security practice, in order to minimize airline safety exposure.Oversee the optimal usage and maintenance of all physical/electronic security, security equipment and technology identification tools (access control, intrusion alarms, CCTV systems) and plan (if required) the strategic planning of processes and procedures improvement initiatives, in order to retain top standards in the company’s security.
