Job purposeSenior procurement specialists are responsible for sourcing and purchasing the raw materials, equipment, and services that company needs to operate.Roles and Responsibilities:Prepare purchase orders, solicit bid proposals, and review requisitions for goods and services.Carry out market research for vendors of materials, equipment or supplies, in order to determine product availability and terms of sales.Select vendor based on price, condition and lead time and initiate purchase order in information system.Obtain requester’s approval on any changes in part number, specifications, quantity or unit of measure advised by the vendor.Handle stock, non-stock, initial and re-provisioning items and services as requested by the end user in accordance with purchasing policies.Negotiate, renegotiate, and administer contracts with suppliers, vendors, and other representatives.Analyze price proposals, financial reports, and other data and information to determine reasonable prices.Formulate policies and procedures for bid proposals and procurement of goods and services.Maintain and review computerized or manual records of purchased items, costs, deliveries, product performance, and inventories.Research and evaluate suppliers, based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities, and the supplier’s reputation and history.Confer with company’s employees, users, and vendors to discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services and determine corrective action.Evaluate and monitor contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and to determine need for changes.Write and review product specifications, maintaining a working technical knowledge of the goods or services to be purchased.Review catalogues, industry periodicals, directories, trade journals, and internet sites and consult with other department personnel to locate necessary goods and services.Monitor changes affecting supply and demand, tracking market conditions, price trends, or futures markets.Interview vendors and visit suppliers’ plants and distribution centers to examine and learn about products, services, and prices.Qualification and ExperienceA minimum of (4) years’ experience and (2) of which in a relevant functions.Bachelor’s degree in Supple Chain or any specialized related fields.On-hand experience in aviation, military, defense or aerospace sector is a plus.Professional certificates in supply chain or procurement is a plus.Skills and AbilitiesExcellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).Retain and maintain excellent relationship with suppliers and vendors.Reporting and tracking skills.Ability to successfully multi-task while working independently or within a group environment.Ability to work in a tight deadline frameworks.LanguagesArabic.English.
